Purchase is a pristine hamlet of Harrison, New York, on the easternmost
border of affluent Westchester County. Situated only 30 minutes from Manhattan,
Purchase is easily accessible to trains, highways, and airports. While

Education
The Purchase School, a recipient of the School of Excellence
Award, is a wonderful place for a child to learn and grow. They have a
dedicated faculty committed to bringing out the best in every student.
The students consistently score at mastery levels on statewide assessments
(grades kindergarten through fifth).
Louis M. Klein Middle School, a recipient of the Blue
Ribbon School of Excellence Award, is committed to the education of all
children of Harrison. Through the efforts of the dedicated staff, they
seek to create a student centered learning environment where every student
is free to develop at their own pace (grades sixth through eighth).
Harrison High School is designed to provide the finest
possible educational opportunities for its students. The High School’s
solid Honors, Regents, and Academic curriculum includes English and Social
Studies, three years of Math and Science, Foreign Languages, Computers,
and a broad range of electives. The Harrison High School campus offers
a superior science program complete with its own Planetarium. Award winning
Music and Arts programs underscore the District’s commitment to
cultural life and education. The school also boasts a Law Program commended
by the New York State Education Department (grades ninth through twelfth).

Keio Academy of New York was established in 1990 by the Keio Gijuku (Keio
Private School System) of Japan (which also operates Keio University,
one of the most prestigious private schools in Japan) primarily to meet
the needs of Japanese students living overseas.

Purchase Community House
The Purchase Community House is the center of the activities in Purchase.
The Community House is relied on to foster fellowship among Purchase residents
and for wholesome activities that unite the neighborhood in loyalty and
service to the community, the state, and the nation.
The Community House provides a wide variety of programs. Among them are:
instructional classes in cooking, arts and crafts, electronics, creative
crafts, science, nature, archery, carpentry, CPR, gymnastics, swimming,
soccer, computer, fashion design, rocketry, model craft, baton twirling,
first aid and safety, music, dance, sculpture, ceramics, sports fitness,
and puppetry. Athletic leagues such as baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer,
street hockey, flag football, and kickball provide opportunities for competitive
recreational pursuits. Friday night open house activities and special
holiday events add spice to the program. The Community House is also the
site of excellent nursery school, day camp program, and birthday party
program offerings.
Purchase has its own Fire Department, Post Office, Library,
and Recreation Center with numerous activities, both indoors and outdoors,
for the residents.
